Gift Wellness Founder wins Enterprising Women in the Community Award

Zareen Roohi Ahmed, Founder & CEO of Derby based company Gift Wellness Ltd has been named Enterprising Woman in the Community of the Year at the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce’s Enterprising Women Excellence Awards.

She was presented with the award at a gala lunch at the Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club, Cotgrave, at lunchtime yesterday.

After a varied career, spanning 25 years, Zareen established Gift Wellness Ltd. It was very much a labour of love, as the main purpose was to bring a product to market that would not only benefit women, but would also support the work of her charity, The Halimah Trust; which was set up in memory of Zareen's daughter Halimah.

At the awards, Zareen expressed how honoured she was to be recognised by the Chamber and by other amazing women. She described how she felt that women today, want more for their pound. When they buy a product, it is important to them that they are associated with an ethical brand. Gift Wellness is growing from strength to strength thanks to women who love to talk to one another about the benefits they're feeling since using Gift pads. "For me, the fact that women love our products is a major bonus"; Zareen shared at the event. After just a year of trading, Gift Wellness products are in Holland & Barrett stores and many independent health stores and pharmacies. The brand is now expanding into Europe and is especially supported by endometriosis, migraine and allergy suffers, who are constantly Tweeting and sharing their stories of how Gift Pads are helping them.

Gift Wellness was also a finalist for the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, DNCC Best new Business Award 2013 (after just 6 months trading); and is a finalist in the Derby Telegraph Business Awards 2014, in the Entrepreneur of the Year category.
